The  ARTC  Breeders Code of Ethics

Breeder will only breed AKC Russell Terriers to Registered Kennel Club Russell Terriers.
Breeder will not use in a breeding program any individual who consistently produces a genetic disease when mated to different dogs.
It is highly recommended that all breeders at least BAER, CERF, Patella and PLL DNA all Russell Terriers prior to breeding them.
Breeder will carefully & thoughtfully, sell/place their puppies to proper homes.
Breeder will provide a written contract, along with AKC registration papers with each puppy sold. We recommend that all puppies sold as pets be placed on limited registration.
Breeder must be willing to be a mentor & advisor for anyone who buys a puppy from them.
Breeder must also be willing to take a puppy back at any age.
As an ethical breeder, all known genetic problems in the lines sold to other breeders and owners will be disclosed.
Breeder will not engage in wholesaling litters or individuals to any pet store, commercial establishment or another breeder(s). This includes co-owned litters.
As an ethical breeder no more than 4 litters per year are produced, per AKC definition.
Breeder will not engage in brokering any dog(s) for any individual(s), this includes co-owned litters.
Breeder will not donate puppies or adults to any raffle or auction or give away as prizes.
